For over 45 years Alan has worked directly with professional Cinema imaging, audio equipment and related technologies within the scope of theatrical release features, episodic television, commercial and special venue productions. Over the past 25 years he has held the position of Senior Executive Vice President at Clairmont Camera.

His experience includes the repair, maintenance, modification of legacy film, state of the art digital cinema camera and lens systems as well as the concept, design and/or development of cutting edge technologies and enhancements to existing products. This in turn lead to his direct involvement with machine shop manufacturing and general prototype fabrication methods including overseeing Research and Development at Clairmont Camera and Clairmont Machine Works.

In addition to being a guest lecturer at UCLA Extension Post Production Studies relating to 35mm and 16mm professional motion picture camera systems, he has taught camera assistants at both UCLA and Arri in trouble shooting and conducting field repairs of this highly specialized equipment.

Alan has extensive knowledge of current and legacy professional multitrack and field audio recording systems and methods for professional motion picture dialog and music industry purposes, as well as practical experience as a recording studio and location sound recording tracking and mix engineer.

As a long time musician, he is also familiar with common and rare/custom instruments.

Alan is one of the most respected professionals in his field and is well known in the entertainment industry.
